INCONVENIENCED commuters have not given up hope for the return of cancelled bus services.
Nearly 60 people attended a fiery public forum in Whalan a fortnight ago, where stranded commuters took their frustration out on local state MPs Richard Amery and Allan Shearan.
Save Our Bus Services organised the forum, which expects a bigger turnout when a second is held at Dawson Mall, Mt Druitt on November 28 from 10am.
Organisers have asked bus company and Transport Workers Union officials to attend.
Whalan resident Ray Cox hopes it will be better organised than the earlier meeting.
He walked out in disgust an hour into the forum, where Gasmata Crescent residents monopolised proceedings, taking out their anger on the politicians over how they must now walk 800 metres to the nearest bus stop.
``People were speaking over the top of each another,'' Mr Cox said.
``They thought the meeting was just for their own agenda. It could have been handled much better. We were told to write down our questions when we arrived.
``One question was asked in the first 50 minutes.''
Mr Shearan will lobby Transport Minister David Campbell for Gasmata Crescent residents but said he was unsure his efforts would be sufficient.
``I was able to act quickly to get buses back in North St Marys and Bulolo Drive, Whalan, because it was early on in the piece,'' he said.
``It's important for disadvantaged commuters to let their views be known to bus companies and the Transport Ministry.''
Mneanwhile, Busways drivers are being investigated fpr possible prosecution by refusing to drive in several local streets.
Some services were stopped at several ''no-go'' zones around the area, following a series of incidents involving objects thrown and assaults that date back to 2007.
Services stopped along Discovery Avenue in Willmot, and Sedgeman Drive and Emerson Road in Shalvey.
The investigation being carried out of the gounds that the driver may have violated work agreements by imposing route bans.
