In the pink and hot to trot

27 Jul, 2010 12:00 AM
SERVING up sounds from the 50s through to the 80s, The Pink Chevys will provide the soundtrack at St Marys Rugby League Club on Saturday night.

The band was formed in 1988 by Mario Borg after he spent many years playing in bands including Black Oratan, The Freeways, The Honey Tones and The Strangers.

In keeping with the theme of the band, Mario even drives a 1962 Chev-Belair with Chevys number plates.

The band claim to have performed at nearly every major club and venue throughout NSW, as well as playing at numerous corporate events.

In 2001 they recorded a double live album at Penrith RSL Club which featured The Pink Chevys playing 28 scorching hot tracks.

Saturday's show will be held in the club's Members Lounge from 9pm and is free for members and their guests.

St Marys Rugby League Club is on the corner of Forrester and Boronia roads.
