CHRIST Mission in Mount Druitt has collected community donations for western Sydney, the rest of Australia and overseas for years.
The mission's principal, Abraham Akkary, and his wife Allyson, have thanked the many donors who have contributed.
``Even though it seems doom and gloom, they just keep on giving to help the needy in this community and beyond,'' Mr Akkary said.
He said people in need who contacted them came from as far away as New Guinea, the Philippines, Fiji and even Africa.
Closer to home, Kellogg's recently donated cereals to Christ Mission to help Victoria's bushfire victims.
``They managed to create a victory song for the fire victims called The Circle of Friends and you can listen to it on YouTube,'' Mr Akkary said.
He also thanked Kellogg's for making the nine local schools' breakfast clubs possible.
``We also were able to help financially, thanks to Shilo Christian Centre in Emerton.
``Pastor Frank and Vivian Stevens were more than generous, and the $5000 given was used to help many in our community and beyond.''
Overseas, Christ Mission will help with a building project in Papua New Guinea in July.
``[We] will join a team from the Blacktown area with Pastor Graham Baker in Papua New Guinea,'' he said.
``We visited our local community and businesses in Blacktown and again they met the call and were more than willing to help.''
