POLICE seized about 11,000 pornographic DVDs and videos from an adult book store in St Marys last week.
The suspect pornography is allegedly all unclassified, restricted content or rated X18+, which is illegal in NSW.
Some of the DVDs had been downloaded from the internet and burned to DVD discs, while others were allegedly imported illegally.
They were being sold at the store in Queen Street for up to $150 a disc.
Police said they were tipped off about the suspect content by the public.
Working with the Office of Film and Literature Classification, officers from the St Marys command swooped on the shop about 9am on Wednesday.
Detective Rohan Best said the business had previously been fined $25,000 for selling illegal content in 2008.
He said the items seized by police would be examined to determine their classifications and legality.
No charges have been laid yet over the matter.
