Tregear woman charged over theft at Mt Druitt

01 Mar, 2010 08:23 AM
A TREGEAR woman was charged with theft after police arrested her near Mt Druitt railway station last Wednesday.

At about 2.30pm, a 19-year-old woman had her mobile phone taken from her handbag on the station's overpass.

She confronted the 23-year-old Tregear woman over the theft, who denied it and walked off.

Westfield security officers were informed and soon located the woman and contacted police.

A later police search allegedly found a large amount of stolen property in the woman's possession.

Police charged the woman with aggravated theft and goods in custody. She was bailed to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on March 18.
