PENRITH fast bowler Josh Lalor has claimed seven scalps within a week following a four-wicket haul against Bankstown at Howell Oval on Saturday.
First grade are on the verge of causing a massive boilover in the Sydney grade cricket competition after second-placed Bankstown were bowled out for 156 in 54 overs.
The score could have been more embarrassing for the visitors, who were 5-19 early on.
Lalor was at his scintillating best, as was Patrick Jackson with his three-wicket haul.
Penrith are 3-96 in reply and are 60 runs away from claiming first innings points.
Jarryd Blake (26) and Brett Newman (32) are the not out batsmen.
The news isn't as promising for other grades with seconds set a competitive run chase of 324.
Third grade need to bowl out Bankstown for under 164 to claim victory at Cook Park St Marys.
Brett Morris (54) and Shannon Finemore (49) topscored for Penrith.
The visitors are 2-35 in reply.
Fourth grade face an almost likely defeat after they were all out for 127.
Brett Chandler (32) was the pick of the Penrith batsmen.
Bankstown are 2-85 in reply.
The visitors were were 8-323 at stumps in the fifth grade crash at Rance Oval.
Michael Harding was the best of the bowlers with four wickets.
