PENRITH will claim first-innings points if they grab the final two wickets for 39 runs or less when their Sydney grade cricket match resumes at Old Kings Oval on Saturday.

Parramatta return to the crease in trouble at 8-97 in reply to Penrith's 137.

Josh Lalor led Penrith's bowling attack with five wickets and supported by Max McNamara's two wickets.

A 66-run sixth-wicket partnership between captain Luke Morrissey (54 not out) and Jarryd Blake (47) saved Penrith from disaster early in the day by being the only batsmen to reach double figures.

Matthew Cummins was the pick of the Penrith bowlers with three wickets while Patrick Cummins, Ben Betros and Joshua Clarke grabbed two each.

Second grade are 0-7 chasing 313 at Howell Oval. Third grade have a chase after Parramatta finished 5-350 at stumps.

Max Fraser was the best of the bowlers with three wickets.

Cameron Steuart had a busy day in the fourth-grade clash at Cook Park, St Marys.

He grabbed 2-36 before he opened Penrith's run chase with an impressive knock of 33.

Penrith resume at 1-79 chasing 186.

Fifth grade have already claimed first innings points after they reached Parramatta's total of 118 for the loss of one wicket, which included an impressive 65 from Nathan Maher. Patrick Pope (4-33), Michael Harding (3-28) and Ryan Gibson (2-3) created havoc for the Parramatta batsmen.

Play in first and second grades will resume at 10.30am, 12.30pm for other grades.

First grade on Sunday will have a Twenty-20 Cup clash against Blacktown at Joe McAleer Reserve, Glendenning, from 2.30pm.
