THEIR season began with a sizzling victory and the Panthers will be looking for a repeat performance when they battle with the Cowboys at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday night. After winning their first round on match under coach Matt Elliott, the Panthers will seek some early momentum in the competition as they attempt to out-play a Willie Mason-driven North Queensland outfit.
The team will be certain to try to rectify their second-half intensity after Canberra wreaked havoc on their well-established lead last weekend.
Elliott said he wanted to remove any reputation that the Panthers would easily dismiss their lead and stressed the importance of getting the ball in the hands of star-
playmaker Michael Jennings.
He also said Panthers second-rower Trent Waterhouse would be back on the field following a minor quad injury which left him a late withdrawal against the Raiders.
``He just solves so many problems that people dont see, so it will be nice to have him back,'' said Elliott.
Five-eighth Travis Burns will play against his former side for the first time since his move to the foot of the mountains.
The match will also be a major milestone for both Penrith's coach and captain, with Elliott celebrating
his 200th first grade game as coach
and Petero Civoniceva his 250th first grade appearance.
