Emus stuck at bottom of ladder

30 Jun, 2009 10:34 AM
THE Penrith Emus rugby union side (pictured in green) remain at the bottom of the Shute Shield ladder after a 36-5 loss against Manly at St Marys Leagues Stadium on Saturday.

Manly's win was soured when one of their players was rushed to hospital after he was knocked unconscious during a head clash in the late stages of the match.

Officials stopped the game to allow the CareFlight helicopter to land on the oval, however, the player was taken by road ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

With nine rounds left, the Emus tackle seventh-placed Eastwood at T.G.Millner Field on Saturday at 3pm.
