Federal cash helps cerebral palsy sports organisers

LINDSAY MP David Bradbury had some good news for Cerebral Palsy Sporting and Recreation Association of NSW volunteers when he caught up with them at St Marys on Friday.

The organisation has received $5000 in a federal grant

It will use the grant to buy a new computer and help with transport needs.

Sixteen groups will share $49,682 of funding to support the work of volunteers. "These volunteers give their time, energy and expertise to support our community," Mr Bradbury said.

"These grants will be used to help volunteer groups buy equipment and help with overheads and travel expenses. Volunteers continue to make a significant contribution to society, contributing $14.6 billion to the not-for-profit sector each year.

"The government is committed to supporting our army of volunteers and this year's grants will help them undertake their selfless work in supporting communities."
