Train apps on track

Train apps on track

Commuters will soon have access to real-time information on mobile phones that shows when the next train is coming.

The release of apps showing up-to-the-minute information follows last year's release of apps on buses and the Transport for NSW 131500 app on train, bus and ferry services across metropolitan Sydney.

The technology will use GPS markers on stations that will pass information on trains to the apps.

Free pet microchips

Penrith Council and Housing NSW will offer free microchipping, training and a health check for cats and dogs on March 2, 10am-2pm, Jamison Park.

A vet, an animal trainer and council officers will answer questions and assess pets.

You can get your dogs and cats microchipped, as required by law, to protect them if they stray from home.

Bring your cat in its carrier and keep your dog leashed.
