I f you can hear that old bench top singing the blues, or those old cupboards creaking and squeaking, it's time for a kitchen revamp.
Granite Transformations' Resident trends expert Jessie Harvey has provided Your Home readers with some great tips on how to go about transforming a kitchen.
"Work out your budget first, as this will be the deciding factor on what you can and cannot do, then work out what you need such as, more cupboard space, or a bigger island benchtop," Ms Harvey said. Ms Harvey also provided advice on how to make the most of small kitchen renovations.
"Keep it simple and don't mess with the original layout of the kitchen," Ms Harvey said. "This way you can have a simple kitchen makeover without the expense and demolition required for a complete new kitchen. Keep the colour palette light and fresh, and just add a splash of colour such as a feature splashback or simply a colourful vase."
Ms Harvey said there were some great emerging trends in kitchen makeovers.

Ms Harvey said to look for products that are backed by warranty and installed by a qualified tradesman.
"Ask tradesmen questions: do they have a warranty, how many have they sold or installed, ask for customer referrals. You want to ensure they tick all the boxes," Ms Harvey said.
