NORTHLANE lead singer Adrian Fitipaldes has had to question reality of late.
The Blacktown boy said he had been inclined to take a step back and consider his group's recent success.
"I'm pretty convinced that life is a dream and it's not real," he said last week, after a national tour on the Soundwave festival.
After touring with the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Paramore and Garbage, Fitipaldes arrived home on Monday to news Northlane's single Quantum Flux was number 14 on the ARIA charts.
"It's something that I'm trying to stay really humble about," he said.
"I'm trying to take it for what it's worth and not let the moment pass me by."
So it has been a big few months for the five-piece, that also includes Alex Milovic on bass, Josh Smith and Jonathon Deiley on guitars and Nic Pettersen on drums.
Milovic, a Greystanes local, said Northlane's success in the mainstream single charts had taken all the members by surprise.
On the Soundwave tour, that visited all mainland capital cities, Northlane played to crowds of between 5000 and 8000 revellers.
On March 22, Northlane's second album Singularity , which was recorded in the US while on tour last year, will hit the stores.
The group have plans to tour in New Zealand and Canada.
