SELF-MADE millionaire Ammar Khan will run as a Chifley candidate in the federal election on September 14.
Mr Khan, an entrepreneur, has lived in Mount Druitt for more than 25 years.
He owns many investments and is the sole director of three property services businesses. He will run for the new 21st Century Australia political party founded by Jamie McIntyre, who will run against Tony Windsor and Barnaby Joyce for the seat of New England.
The party's policy document says it will overhaul what it says is an outdated 19th century political system that needs to be modernised.
Mr McIntyre believes Mr Khan's skills, experiences and initiatives create a vision to improve education, housing and social standards not just in the Chifley electorate, but nationwide.
"I feel great responsibility to tackle the region's higher-than-average unemployment rate, as well as the limitations to the medical and transport facilities and infrastructure," Mr Khan said.
