IT'S that time of the year when fishnet stockings become fashion appropriate, furry boots are the must-have footwear and colourful arm candy is the signature accessory needed to top off the ultimate Defqon.1 music festival outfit.
Up to 25,000 people from Australia and the world, clad in self-styled dance wear, are expected to descend on the Regatta Centre for the award-winning Defqon.1 music festival on Saturday, September 14.
There will be 130 international and Australian music acts who will perform their big synth beats, electro mixes and techno hits for hard dance enthusiasts across seven brightly coloured stages — red, blue, black, orange, purple, magenta and green.
The Red stage features top international acts including Frontliner from Holland, Brennan Heart the producer of Defqon.1 2013 Australia Anthem, Coone, Psyko Punkz, Gunz For Hire and Ran-D as well as top local producers including Toneshifterz Connected and Dillytek.
A Defqon.1 spokeswoman said this year's event featured more attractions and activities than before.
"For every edition of Defqon.1 Australia, we strive to provide the ultimate experience for our fans," she said.
"The stages are unique and fully customised every year.
"Last year we had a red dragon looming over the crowd; this year's massive main stage [red stage] is already a hugely awaited surprise."
Festival attendees can bring their own tent or choose to have a tent set up.
The festival camping opens on Friday, September 13, with the Defqon.1 pre-party and closes on Saturday, September 14. Camping tickets cost $60 per night.
Defqon.1 festival ticket from $160.
