Bridge won't wander
A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers have extended the contract of star striker Mark Bridge for an extra three years.
This ensures the Wanderers inaugural player of the year and former St Clair junior, 27, will stay with the club to the end of the 2016/2017 season.
"Mark has improved immeasurably in his first year at the club," coach Tony Popovic said.
"He's already showing in pre-season training his appetite to continue developing and improving as a player. He's someone we want to keep at the club for a long time."
Bridge scored 11 goals and made five assists in his first season with the club. He initially signed for two seasons but wanted to lock in his future with the club he calls home.
"Moving home to Western Sydney and playing for the Wanderers was one of the best decisions of my life," Bridge said.
"This is a special club and playing for the Wanderers has made me a better player and a happier person."
