I have just read the Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.
The book was illustrated by Axel Scheffer.
The cover is mysterious because there is a picture of a monster with poisonous prickles on its back.
The story is about a mouse who is taking a stroll.
He has to make up a story about a Gruffalo because he doesn't want to get eaten by a fox, an owl or a snake.
I found the story to be surprising because the mouse is in for a big surprise but I'm not telling.
I think the part where he scared all of the animals away was the best part because he tells them that the Gruffalo's favourite food is them.
Children who love stories about monsters and animals should read this book because it is surprising and it is a good book to read for children.

Charlie and Lola
In this book Lola doesn't want to go to school.
She keeps on making excuses about why she shouldn't go to school.
Lola always blames it on Soren Lorenson but really it is her who's scared to go to school.
Charlie and Lola is a good book because if you are scared to go to school you can read this book and get braver to go.
Your mum or dad might read it to you because you might not be absolutely able to read it yourself.
But if you can read it yourself don't ask mum or dad, just read it!
When you are done ask mum or dad to take you to school.
If you are sick you can stay home, but if you are not sick you need to go to school!
Everyone will like this story.
