MOVE over Milan and New York, Westfield Mt Druitt was the place to be for those with a passion for fashion last week.
The centre held a three-day fashion VIP event to present the hot spring look that trendsetters can find right here in our part of town.
Festivities include roaming fashion parades, free hairstyling, lollipops, fairy floss and a DJ.
Westfield Insider Alyce Cowell said the shows gave shoppers a sneak preview of spring and summer.
"It gives people who are time poor some aspiration and a wrap-up of what's in fashion," she said.
"The good thing this spring is that there's something for everyone, whether you're just starting out, taking a relaxed approach or loving any trends.
"Shoppers can experiment with trends and adapt them to their budgets, lifestyles and tastes."
White is the new black, Ms Cowell says.
Other trends include ladylike ruffles, florals, the monochrome look, neon colours and sportswear.
"There are a few new trends to add to those from 12 months ago," Ms Cowell said.
"We love our trends and don't let them go too easily.
"The ladylike look has been around for two years because it suits everyone and is universally flattering.
"White is the big new trend which is a clean look and is good for the warmer months."
Her tips include sticking to darker colours on your bottom half if you prefer your top half, make a list of what you need before hitting the shops and for those on a tight budget to consider accessories to incorporate trends.
"A statement piece of jewellery is good for the party season," Ms Cowell said. "You can follow — and have fun with — trends and still do it on the cheap.
"Fashion is meant to be fun."
