SYDNEY'S west is the best, says to the Accor Hotels group.
Novotel Sydney Rooty Hill took home Accor Pacific Franchise of the Year and was also crowned Novotel of the Year, both awards for the second consecutive year.
"It's fantastic recognition for our staff and for our owners [Rooty Hill RSL] who want to invest in the project," hotel general manager Mark Maybury (pictured) said.
"One of the selection criteria was customer service and feedback. We rated the highest. It carries on from the successful year we've had."
Former prime minister Julia Gillard stayed at the Novotel during her week-long spell in western Sydney.
Many international music acts, NRL and AFL sides have stayed the night at 164-room hotel.
"There are lot of reasons for people to come out here," Mr Maybury said.
About 74,000 guests stayed at the hotel last year.
People are starting to realise the dynamics of western Sydney and that there is an international-class place to stay out here," he said.
Mr Maybury already has an eye on next year's prize.
