Roll up roll up the circus is coming to town!
The Loritz Circus will be entertaining crowds with its Out of Africa show in St Marys from December 30 until January 12.
‘‘It’s a lot different to a normal circus,’’ circus manager Jeff Weber said.
‘‘This is one of the best shows we’ve ever put on. This is the first time the show has been in Sydney. We have a lot of modern acts. It’s a full impact show with no dull spots. There’s a storyline for the kids to follow from start to finish. A gorilla comes out to interact with the kids. The clown is on the hunt to catch him, who turns out to be a nice gorilla.’’
Computerised lights and sound and international acts also separate the circus from others, according to Mr Weber.
‘‘We have 10 performers from the Royal Kenyan Acrobats,’’ he said.
‘‘Our hula hoop girl Americus, 11, has performed on the Oprah Winfrey show as one of the most talented kids in the world and made the final of New Zealand’s Got Talent. Our juggler has come back from a circus competition in China, where he won bronze and came first for most entertaining.’’
There are no caged or exotic animals.
‘‘We do have a pony who has educated himself to turn the off the lights and out himself to bed,’’ Mr Weber said.
He’s part of seven generations of circus performers.
‘‘It’s been part of my whole life,’’ he said.
Other performers come from Germany, Argentina, New Zealand and Columbia.
There are also amusement rides outside the big top.
‘‘It’s not often you get to see world class performers in your town so it would be a bummer to miss out,’’ Mr Weber said.
‘‘It will be the best night you’ll have in a long time. We have a money back guarantee if you don’t enjoy it.’’
Lortiz Circus will be at the corner of the Kingsway and Charles Hackett Drive, St Marys from December 30 until January 12.
The booking office is open 10am - 5pm and one hour prior to show times.
Tickets range from $22 to $35 for adults, $16 to $28 for children.
