Don't miss the FUNPARK at Bidwill, part of the Sydney Festival, on January 18-19, 6pm-10pm.
The amusement parks that once graced Mount Druitt are long gone but, in collaboration with residents, some of the festival's boldest performance makers are welcoming back the crowds for a different kind of ride.
FUNPARK merges dream worlds with contemporary experiences.
Walking through the disused Bidwill Shopping Plaza you might stumble into an interactive arcade cinema, a political rock opera or a spontaneous hula-hooping session, or have a chat over tea with a resident.
Capacity is limited so do register to attend.
Shuttle buses will be operating to and from Mt Druitt station.
Free stationery pack
Customers are being rewarded for doing their back to school shopping at Plumpton Marketplace this year.
From January 20 (while stocks last) those who spend $30 in any specialty store can collect a free back to school stationery pack valued at more than $10.
Shoppers should present their receipts at the Collection Booth outside Big W between 10am and 3pm daily, to collect their pack, thanks to Plumpton Newsagency.
Children can also enjoy free back to school craft from January 22 to 24 from 11am-2pm. Plumpton Marketplace is on the corner of Hyatts and Jersey roads.
