UPDATED: Fatal crash in Colyton

Police are investigating a fatal crash at Colyton on Wednesday night.

Emergency services were called to Roper Road about 6.30pm after two trucks and a car collided.

It is believed a Kia Cerato sedan and an Iveco Prime Mover were travelling north along Roper Road when they were involved in a collision.

The Kia sedan has then collided with a truck travelling in the opposite direction.

A man, 33, who was driving the Kia, died en route to hospital while the truck drivers, two men aged 32 and 35, were not injured in the collision.

They were taken to Mount Druitt Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit officers conducted examinations of the scene.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are continuing and police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.

Police urge witnesses to come forward.
