Keeping kids safe

A six-week Keeping Children Safe course starts at Claremont Meadows Community Centre on Thursday, February 13, 10am-noon. Run by Anglicare, this free course will help parents recognise abuse and neglect and understand the effects on children.

Free child care is available. The course will be at Claremont Meadows Community Centre, Sunflower Drive.

Outdoor movies

The old St Marys bowling green will be transformed into a free outdoor cinema on Saturday night, when Fusion Western Sydney will host Cinema on The Green to screen two movies: Monsters University at 8.15pm, and Iron Man 3 at 10.30pm.

Enter from 7.30pm.

The Fusion Cafe will be open with snacks, drinks and sausages for sale. Fusion Western Sydney is at 12 Carsons Lane, St Marys.

Apology event

Mt Druitt District and Reconciliation Group will host an event on Thursday night from 6pm to commemorate six years since then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd made a public apology to the stolen generations.

A panel of speakers and Aboriginal elders will lead the discussions.

Refreshments will be provided.

It will be held at the Holy Family Centre, Emert Parade, Emerton.
