Youth charged in relation to Doonside gang rape

A 16-year-old youth has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Doonside last  Saturday (February 8).

Detectives investigating the case charged him with one count of sexual assault when he presented himself to Blacktown police station yesterday.

He is one of six people police are seeking following the sexual assault of a girl in Bill Colbourne Reserve about 11pm. 

The youth was interviewed by detectives and later charged with sexual assault.

He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court today (Friday, February 14).

Strike Force Tompo, comprising detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad and investigators from Blacktown Local Area Command, was formed to investigate the alleged sexual assault.
