Play stays on in bad weather

WINTER weather can sometimes put a dampener on school holiday fun, but the Kidz Fun Factory, Minchinbury, which has been operating for 10 years, is fun at any time, whatever the season.

New owner Salwa Darwiche, a proud mother of four, has a background in childcare.

"It's great to come into the centre for a casual play," she said.

"It's indoors, so it's out of the weather and we have a cafe so parents can relax and enjoy a coffee while the kids play."

Mrs Darwiche said her dedicated and friendly staff always kept an eye on the play areas.

"What makes Kidz Fun Factory unique is that our seating is in the middle of all the play areas so parents can keep an eye on their children too," she said. "We do a fortnightly playgroup during school terms every second Thursday for one- to five-year-olds, and soon we will be looking at doing a playgroup for autistic children every second Monday with an occupational therapist."

The last playgroup before school holidays will be held on Thursday, April 10 with an Easter theme.

"We will be doing Easter activities and an Easter hat parade," Mrs Darwiche said.

Kidz Fun Factory will be open from 10am to 5.30pm during the school holidays.

Entry after 3pm is $5.
