TENANTS and other home occupants around Blacktown who are looking to vacate and who need a council clean-up are urged to give as much notice as possible.
The message was reiterated after this eyesore (pictured) was left outside a private rental home in Shalvey for a month.
Residents alerted the Star to it after seeing rats emerging and it was promptly cleared.
The tenant tried to book a clean-up in early March but left before it could be scheduled.
"The tenant again contacted the council on March 24 to advise they were still renting the property and would like a service," a spokeswoman said.
"The council had asked the tenant provide confirmation of the date they were vacating the property. As no confirmation had been received, a clean-up was not scheduled."
Tenants must be living there at the time of collection and are advised to book a service 3-4 weeks before they intend to vacate.
The waiting time is 2-3 weeks but may exceed a month in peak periods.
Bookings: 9839 6000.
