Elderly couple broken into: Whalan

Police are investigating after an elderly couple's home was broken into in in Whalan on Monday night (June 2).

A  man,88, and his wife, 87, were at their residence in Finnistere Avenue, at around 7.15pm.

As the man left the loungeroom, he saw an unknown male intruder run out of a bedroom and down the hallway, then dive out the window of another bedroom.

Mount Druitt Police and the Dog Squad conducted a search of the area but the man was not located.

The couple has reported a number of items missing from their home.

The man is described as being of Caucasian, about 173cm tall, with brown hair and an athletic build, wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
