Man charged with reckless wounding in Shanes Park

Police charged a man with reckless wounding after a confrontation in Shanes Park on Monday.

At about 4.30pm officers were called to a home in Palmyra Avenue after reports of an argument between two men in the front yard.

Police found a 29-year-old man with a deep cut to his face, allegedly caused by him being struck with a metal pole.

He was taken to Nepean Hospital and is expected to need surgery.

Police arrested a 47-year-old man at the scene and later charged him with reckless wounding and also served him with a personal violence order.

He was conditionally bailed and appears in Mount Druitt Local Court on June 30.
