On Saturday two men forced their way into a home in Tregear and threatened the residents.
The men, armed with a sword and a knife, entered the premises in Balleny Place at about 7am.
They threatened two other men and a woman, all aged in their 30s, although no one was reported to have been harmed.
The intruders soon left after taking a television, a computer and car keys.
One man was described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, of large build, with dark hair and wearing a jacket and black tracksuit pants.
The other man was also described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, of slim build and wearing a red jumper and dark-coloured pants.
