IN their debut year, Kingswood High School have won the Opens division of the Mark Geyer Cup.

Kingswood defeated last year's under-16 champions Jamieson High School 18-16 in the final at St Marys Stadium last Wednesday.

In the other grades, it was a mixed bag for Chifley College — Mt Druitt, who ran out 40-0 winners against Blaxland High School in the under-14s final and lost 16-0 to Glenmore Park High School 16-0 in the under-16s final.

The eight-week competition, run by NRL Game Development and Panthers legend Mark Geyer, gives students in the Penrith region who haven't played rugby league a chance to experience the game.

Grand final results:

Under-14s: Chifley College — Mt Druitt 40 def Blaxland High School 6.

Under-16s: Glenmore Park HS 16 def Chifley College - Mt Druitt 0.

Opens: Kingswood High School 20 def Jamison High School 18.
