The wife of businessman Sir Patrick Goodman has been killed in a car crash south-west of Sydney that also left him in hospital.
Hilary, Lady Goodman, 72, died on Sunday when the car Sir Pat, 86, was driving crashed in the Southern Highlands.
Police said a Mercedes Benz crashed into a parked car on Berrima Road at Moss Vale, about 2.45pm.
The impact caused the Mercedes to flip onto its roof.
Hilary Goodman, who was understood to be travelling in the front passenger seat, died at the scene.
Her husband, who is on the New Zealand rich list, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bowral Hospital.
He was discharged to another hospital today, Bowral Hospital told Fairfax Media.
It did not say where he had been transferred, but Fairfax Media understands it was to a Sydney hospital.
Crash investigators have asked for witnesses to contact them.
Sir Pat co-founded the trans-Tasman food giant Goodman Fielder Wattie, a company which was once a leader in the global food industry. He is also an arts patron and philanthropist.
Sir Pat was a master dealmaker who built the company up from humble beginnings in Motueka.
Within a few years he and his brother Peter's original $2000 investment had become $1 million. Sir Pat is a former chief executive and chairman of Goodman Fielder Wattie.
