BRIEFS

Books wanted

St Clair Youth Neighbourhood Team is in need of pre-loved books for its free book exchange, where bookworms can take, swap or donate a book or two.

It's actively involved in the Paint Penrith REaD initiative so children's books are in high need.

The facility's Learning Lounge also needs school textbooks on all subjects.

Drop off books to the Autumnleaf Neighbourhood Centre (behind St Clair shopping centre) or Erskine Park Community Centre (57 Peppertree Drive, opposite Aldi).

Road work still on

Work to upgrade the Roper Road and M4 interchange will continue until July 31.

Roads and Maritime Services has contracted DownerMouchel to carry out the work from 9pm to 5am, weather permitting.

It is hoped the work will reduce congestion and travel times.

Work already completed includes concrete barriers, drainage and kerb and gutters.

Partial lane closures will be in place and motorists are asked to heed the directions of traffic controllers and reduced speed limits.

There will be temporary changes to the Roper Road bus stop approaching the M4 Motorway but signage will be in place to redirect commuters.
