Conference is all about fatherhood

FORMER Wallabies captain Nick Farr-Jones will officially open the Fusion Families Conference About Dads on August 7-8 in St Marys.

The World Cup-winning captain will share his insights from life on the rugby field, in business and as a father and husband.

The aim of the conference is to encourage and equip dads in their important role in the family.

The conference features skilled and experienced speakers and practitioners.

New Zealand author Ian Grant will speak on the opening night on the topic of "How to be an Awesome Dad in 30 Minutes" and will give dads practical action strategies they can use straight away.

His second talk the next day will be on "How to Raise Great Kids and Enjoy it".

Author and father of six Dr Justin Coulson will follow on the topic "What Your Child Needs From You" and share ways to get to the heart of raising a happy child and creating a connected family.

Social worker Cay Camden will discuss the latest statistics, common worries dads have and the challenges of the "absent father" faced by single mums, workers and communities.

The About Dads conference is on August 7-8 at Fusion Western Sydney Youth and Community Centre, 12 Carsons Lane, St Marys. Details: 8805 5900 or fusionwesternsydney.org.au.
