MAKING the top 12 of X-Factor would be a dream come true for Glendenning schoolgirl Marlisa Punzalan.
The 14-year-old — the youngest in the competition — will find out her fate next Sunday if she's made the final six of mentor and judge Ronan Keating's group.
The top 24 travelled to New York to impress their judges one last time before home visits this week.
Keating told Marlisa she could win the competition for him but in Monday night's episode (August 4), she stumbled over the words of the song in front of co-mentor John Legend.
But Marlisa is proud of how far she's come.
"You don't get too many opportunities like this," she told the Star.
"It's a once in a lifetime chance. To make it to the final 12 on the show would mean the whole universe to me.
"There was a lot of pressure but I learned a great deal."
Marlisa is coming to terms with her newly found fame.
"A lot more people notice in the street now," she said. "I can't hide any more."
