MONDAY 5pm: HOPE fades more as the sun goes down each day but the volunteers' resolve to find missing William Tyrell holds strong.
The faces of police, SES crew and volunteer searchers tell it all as the search for the three-year-old goes deep into day four.
Media from all over the state gathered at the Kendall Showground on Monday afternoon to listen to Superintendent Paul Fehon.
Other volunteer searchers crowded around in a desperate bid to hear if there had been any news about the situation.
Unfortunately, the day ended much like the previous before it - with nothing to go on and no further leads on William's whereabouts.
One of the volunteer searchers, Jason Hunter from Wauchope, said he would continue with the search until little William was found.
He searched a dense, overgrown section of bushland about 50 metres from a main road on Monday afternoon.
"I'll keep coming back if I have to," he said. "A mate of mine, Nathan, has been out here almost 24/7 looking. It's been a fantastic community effort, everyone has put 200 per cent into it."
But Mr Hunter said more questions are being raised the longer the youngster is missing.
"Everyone has scoured all over this place, metre-by-metre," he said. "It makes you wonder if something else has happened. Either way I hope he's found soon."
MONDAY noon: Search crews have been tasked to a new area as the hunt for missing William Tyrell continues unabated.
At this morning's briefing, searchers at Kendall were been told teams would concentrate on the railway area to the Camden Haven River.
With more recruits joining the volunteer organisations already combing bushland south of Port Macquarie, the situation is fast reaching critical point.
Those "new eyes" include the state's highly-trained Public Order and Riot Squad and officers from the Newcastle area and volunteers from Lismore, more than 350km away.
Little William has been missing close to 100 hours and police have admitted chances of his survival, if he is out in the elements, are steadily decreasing.
EARLIER: More search crews have joined the desperate search for three-year-old boy William Tyrell, missing from Kendall since Friday.
William was playing in the front of his grandmother's home in his Spider-Man costume when he disappeared.
The search, now in day four, has been bolstered by even more State Emergency Service volunteers - this time from Sydney - who have joined the hundreds of police, volunteers and community members who have been searching the area south of Port Macquarie since William disappeared at 10.30am on Friday.
The large-scale search, which continued throughout Sunday night, has so far failed to turn up any trace of William.
Superintendent Paul Fehon said on Sunday afternoon that, despite painstaking searching by hundreds of emergency services workers and volunteers, the little boy's chance of survival was steadily decreasing.
"As time passes that window does diminish," Superintendent Paul Fehon said.
A family friend, speaking on behalf of William's parents, said they were desperate to find the child.
"William is a much-loved and cherished little boy," said the friend, who wanted to be known only by her first name Nicole. "The family are desperate to have him home, and if anyone knows anything please contact police."
Police are saying that his chances of survival are diminishing steadily as the days progress.
Inspector Kim Fehon said police were looking into other scenarios and are keeping an open mind in relation to the case and cannot rule out the possibility he was abducted.
Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command are coordinating the search, which has included SES volunteers, RFS volunteers, members of the local surf lifesaving club, the police dog squad, mounted police, officers using trail bikes and PolAir.
William has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, with dark hair and hazel eyes.
