Nicole Kidman never thought she'd fall in love again after she split with Tom Cruise.
But, she and Keith Urban have been together for nearly a decade and are as deeply in love as ever, the 47-year-old has told Good Morning Britain.
"We've been married eight years and together for nine," she said. "We work really hard to keep a relationship alive and to keep it incredibly deep and intimate."
She also said their maturity, by the time they met at G'Day LA in 2005, has helped their union.
"That's through meeting in later life and having lived a life and coming together at a particular time that was serendipitous," says Kidman, who has previously admitted that Urban took four months to ask her out on their first date.
"There are incredible possibilities for love in the latter years. I sound like some old woman. Like a grandmother. Anyway, it's good and I'm grateful."
It has been a tough year for Kidman, whose beloved father died in September from a suspected heart attack.
"We've had some terrible things happen this year in our family so we'll be holding tight to each other.
"That's all you can do at Christmas. Hold tight to each other."
The two-time Golden Globe winner has also said she'd love to expand their brood. She has adopted daughter and son, Isabella, 21, and Connor, 19, from her marriage to Cruise, while she and Urban, 47, have daughters Sunday, six, and Faith, four.
"I have four children already and my sister has six children so my mum's like, 'We're done. We're done.'
"If I could I would have four more."
As well as working hard at their marriage, Kidman says she and Urban, a four-time Grammy winner who also won Best Australian Live Act at the ARIA Awards on Wednesday, work hard to keep their kids grounded.
"Sunday and Faith both have their chores that they have to do every single day even though they groan about it.
"I certainly do my things. I love washing clothes. I do love it, I love watching the dirty water come out. I sound so OCD. I just love seeing them get clean."
Her love of cleaning does not extend to other areas of domesticity though.
"I don't do the ironing, even though as a kid that was my No. 1 chore at home, ironing my dad's shirts, which I loved doing," she said, before adding: "I'm not a cook. I love to be cooked for."
