Muscle cars back for race day

The Australian Muscle Car Masters returns to Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek, on Father's Day for the eighth retro Touring Car racing event.

On Sunday, September 2, historic race cars and legendary drivers will compete on Sydney Motorsport Park's new 4.5-kilometre circuit.

The line-up features the best of local and international muscle car racing, with the Touring Car Masters, New Zealand's incredible Central Muscle Cars, Group N Historic Touring Cars, Group A and C Bathurst heroes and V8-powered Formula 5000 open wheelers on track .

For cars deemed too rare or valuable to risk in racing, hot-lap sessions will run during the day.

Additional attractions include a display of some of the most valuable road-registered muscle cars in the country, including a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the XA Falcon GT, Valiant Charger R/T E49 and Holden LJ Torana GTR XU1, the 30th anniversary of the VH HDT Commodore SS Group 3.

Entry: $45 adults; $30 student/concessions; free for under-12s.
