Notorious Russian homophobe, Vitaly Milonov, has struck again, this time in a photobomb with two kissing lesbians.
But instead of his usual protestations against gay relationships, which he has called "perversion", the politician appeared to have provided unbridled, albeit non-consenting, support for a pair of kissing lesbians on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to St Petersburg.
A woman, identified on social media as Kseniya Infinity, took a selfie of her kissing her partner featuring the politician in the background.
The image went viral after they posted it on Instagram with the caption, "Who's that in the background??? MILONOV! And we don't give a f***! We're flying to our favourite club, Infinity."
Infinity is an 18+ lesbian nightclub in St Petersburg and has a social page on the European social website, VK.
Milonov, an anti-gay politician in the St Petersburg parliament, was infamous for actively supporting a ban on gay athletes during the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014, claiming gay people rape children and banning gay Apple chief executive Tim Cook from entering Russia.
He wrote Russia's St Petersburg's "gay propaganda" law which became the model for the nationwide law signed by Vladimir Putin.
After the selfie, Kseniya uploaded more photos on to her VK page, with a description of what took place on the plane translated by news site Meduza as:
"Lots of people are asking me about my last post: did we really go and kiss in front of Milonov? Was it really Milonov? Maybe it was just somebody who looked like him? What was the flight like? and so on. Here are my answers: Yes it was really Milonov! As fate would have it, he was sitting in the row right behind us."
The selfie occurred just as Milonov is drafting a bill to remove a loophole in Russia's same-sex marriage ban after lesbian couple Irina Shumilova and Alyona Fursova married last Friday.
