No gingers, no beards, no spectacles. Hipsters are out, and so are hijabs.
Images of Apple's updated emojis – the little icons you can add to text or chat – first announced last year, leaked online overnight, revealing the company has expanded on its (until now) largely white cast of characters.
Soon, every time you click on an emoji that depicts a person, you'll be able to choose from a six-shade colour palette and customise the emoji's skin tone.
The update is reportedly from a beta OS X software upgrade, and currently only available to developers.
While Apple's efforts to be more inclusive are commendable, the company has inadvertently opened a can of worms as to what is meant by diversity.
Racial diversity is one thing, but Apple is trying to do more than that: it has also added what appear to be same-sex couples with children, suggesting an attempt to be more inclusive of cultural diversity.
But note: there are no interracial relationships.
There are no punks, goths, or drag queens; no disabled people, and no fat people.
The list could go on.
It's a far cry from Facebook's ambitious attempt at cultural diversity.
About a year ago, the social network added more than 50 new gender-identifying tags for users and has a sticker store with new emojis frequently updated.
Gender tags are just one lens through which to construct identity, and complements many other customisable markers, such as the user's profile picture and other personal information.
Yet adding more emojis won't help Apple improve its representations of diversity.
Ironically, these have only underlined the truly far more diverse nature of humanity – and just how much of this is excluded here, and impossible to categorise.
The University of Melbourne's Lan Anh Hoang also warns that categorising cultural identities in this pre-formatted way may backfire.
"It may not only reinforce stereotypes but also be offensive when misused," Dr Hoang argues.
Instead, she's "all for neutral emojis" that don't represent a particular type of person.
Interestingly, Google has done just that.
According to Ausdroid, the latest version the tech giant's mobile operating system, Lollipop 5.0, scrapped the (also largely white) human-looking emojis of the previous KitKat system and replaced them with generic yellow faces.
Google has also gone in the opposite direction in a move that could ultimately prove the best solution yet to inclusive representation: customisation.
It's launched an app that lets you "Androidify" yourself - i.e. create a customised avatar complete with skin colour, height, weight, accessories and walking sticks.
Unfortunately these custom avatars do not yet extend to emojis, and that may be problematic because of the way they are designed to translate across different operating systems.
But if Google can map the entire world, it's not beyond them to give it a try.
