Seek modest savings, don't make big new spending promises: Business Council of Australia

The Business Council of Australia has called on the federal government to seek only modest savings in the May budget, avoid major new spending commitments that are not offset by cuts elsewhere and says gradual budget repair must start now, or risk harsh and inequitable cuts in the future.
