A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a car in Pyrmont on Thursday morning.
The 60-year-old man was crossing Harris Street at the intersection with Pyrmont Bridge Road when he was struck by the car.
Emergency services said they were called shortly after 10.30am on Thursday.
The man suffered a cardiac arrest at the scene and was still in cardiac arrest when the ambulance arrived at St Vincent's Hospital, a spokesperson for the NSW Ambulance Service said.
Police confirmed the man died a short time after arriving at the hospital.
Police said that, about 10.35am, a 19-year-old woman was driving a Suzuki Swift west along Pyrmont Bridge Road when she approached the intersection of Harris Street.
Police were told a pedestrian was crossing Pyrmont Bridge Road at the same time and that the pedestrian and vehicle collided.
The woman was uninjured, and was taken to Sydney Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police cordoned off the scene and photos posted to social media by passers-by show the man's walking stick lying in the middle of the blood-streaked road.
