Colyton Mt Druitt Junior Rugby League Football Club is one step closer to winning a NRL Grassroots Club Grant worth $5,000 from Home Timber and Hardware. Now it’s up to the local community to help make their dream a reality, by voting online at facebook.com/hometimberandhardware.
The official hardware store of the National Rugby League (NRL), Home Timber and Hardware, is giving away $50,000 as part of its NRL Grassroots Club Grants competition to ten Rugby League clubs across Australia, to be used for whatever the club needs.
Now in its second year, the Home Timber and Hardware NRL Grassroots Club Grants provide vital assistance to clubs that need it the most. Last year’s winners included grassroots clubs that had felt the devastating effects of the 2011 floods, using their grant for much needed upgrades such as purchasing new equipment and renovating their home ground.
Local team, Colyton Mt Druitt Junior Rugby League Football Club, submitted a photo and 100 words telling Home Timber and Hardware why they deserve to win a $5,000 grant. Now it is down to their local community and biggest fans, to show their support and get them across the finishing line.
Colyton Mt Druitt Junior Rugby League Football Club secretary, Kylie Neville, is encouraging the whole community to show their support of their local club.
“NRL Grassroots Club Grants support the important role grassroots clubs play in Australian communities,” said Neville.
“We encourage everyone to help our club by voting online, and help spread the word by putting it on their own Facebook page.”
To vote for the club simply go online to facebook.com/hometimberandhardware and cast your vote. Voting closes on 7 September 2012. The more votes the club receives, the more chance it has of winning.
