Hospital upgrade
Early work on the Mount Druitt Hospital upgrade is expected to start soon; Kane Constructions has been awarded the contract.
The hospital will be reconfigured for expanded dental services, a new main entrance and changes to the sterilising services department.
The upgrade is part of $300 million redevelopment of Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals.
Mount Druitt Hospital will celebrate its 30th anniversary in October.
Bushcare action
Penrith Council urges residents to roll up their sleeves and take part in Bushcare's Major Day Out this Saturday, September 8, at Kanangra Reserve, Kingswood, 9am-noon.
It's a day of action on invasive weeds and enables residents to give Bushcare a go and learn from experienced Bushcarers.
Wear sturdy shoes, long pants, gloves and a hat. Tools, training and a barbecue from noon will be provided.
