She swears by her workout philosophy, but it seems there was a time when Gwyneth Paltrow was not happy about Tracy Anderson's diet choices.
According to the celebrity personal trainer, who counts Cameron Diaz and Nicole Ritchie among her celebrity fans, said the 42-year-old actress shot her some sharp words after she witnessed her eating a cookie.
"I was in London, dunking cookies in frosting. And [Paltrow] looked at me and was like, 'What are you doing?'", Anderson, 40, told Health magazine.
"And I was like, 'What do you mean? It's so good!' And she's like, 'Do you know how toxic that is?' I said, 'Yes.'"
Anderson said she came to agree with Paltrow.
"That was almost nine years ago," she said. "That was the last cookie dunked in frosting I ever had."
Possibly to prove the point, Anderson gave the interview over "a spread of cookies, tortilla chips and guacamole — all soy-free, nut-free, dairy-free and gluten-free."
Since launching her her Tracy Anderson Method 16 years ago, Anderson has gone from strength to strength. Her workout empire now boasts a range of DVDs, clothing, workout equipment as well as her four studios in New York and Los Angeles, where membership costs a reported $US900 a month.
While many of her celebrity clients have been coming to her for years, Anderson recently found a new fan in Girls creator Lena Dunham.
Dunham, 28, shared a picture of herself in her workout gear to her Instagram account over the weekend, explaining how Tracy Anderson's method had helped her deal with her mental illness.
"To those struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression: I know it's mad annoying when people tell you to exercise, and it took me about 16 medicated years to listen. I'm glad I did," she said.
"It ain't about the ass, it's about the brain. Thank you @tracyandersonmethod for showing me the light."
