New officers a welcome
boost to police ranks
Thirteen new police graduates started their careers at St Marys recently.
The command received the second biggest allocation of new officers in NSW.
"It's been a long time since we've had a boost like this," Superintendent Ray Filewood said.
The 2012-13 state budget includes $178 million in funding over the next four years to bring the NSW Police Force to a record strength of 16,356 officers by June 2014.
It currently stands at 16,016.
"After my many meetings and letters and phone calls, I am so happy that the needs of St Marys LAC have finally been recognised," Mulgoa MP Tanya Davies said.
