St Marys-Mount Druitt Police beat-September 10

*A youth has been charged with 70 offences over the alleged malicious damage of dozens of buses at a Glendenning depot.

Shortly after 7am on Sunday, staff attended the Westbus depot on Glendenning Road and discovered 68 buses had been ‘tagged.’ 

Two of the buses had graffiti along their entire sides.

Mt Druitt Police began an investigation into the incident and that afternoon, arrested a male, 16 at a Samantha Crescent home in Glendenning.

He was charged with 68 counts of damage/deface property with graffiti, entering land with intent to commit indictable offence, and destroy or damage property.

He was bailed to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on October 16.

*Mount Druitt Police  has renewed its calls for information after an elderly woman, suffered head injuries in a fall at her Emerton complex last Monday.

Neighbours found the woman, 86, unconscious at the Bunting Street complex at around 1.30pm.

She suffered serious head injuries and an injury to her wrist and spent two days on life support before regaining consciousness last Wednesday.

Forensic police investigated the scene and Mount Druitt detectives commenced an investigation.

Initial inquiries suggested that the woman may have been the victim of a ‘bag snatch’, 

The woman told police she was in possession of two bags of groceries and her handbag when she fell over.

Her handbag was stolen while she was unconscious. 

 Police have appealed for information relating to the stolen handbag.

 *Five people have been charged with over 200 offences relating to the alleged pawning of hundreds of stolen DVDs and video games in Mount Druitt

Officers from the North-West Metropolitan Region’s ‘Operation Count Down’ received information about the suspicious pawning activity of the four men and a woman at a second-hand store in Mt Druitt.

Police will allege investigations revealed the group had pawned approximately 1000 DVD’s and video games including multiple titles of the same movies.

The arrests were made last Tuesday (September 4)

A woman, 18, was charged with ten counts of goods in custody suspected of being stolen and 12 counts of making a false statement to a pawnbroker. 

She was bailed to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on September 27.

A man , 22 will appear in court on the same date, charged with 34 counts of making a false statement to a pawnbroker, 19 counts of disposing of stolen property and 12 counts of goods in custody.

A  man, 20 charged with 11 counts each of disposing of stolen goods and making a false statement to a pawnbroker. 

He was bailed  to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on October 11

A second man, 20 will appear in court on the same date, charged  with 33 counts of goods in custody suspected of being stolen and 37 counts of making a false statement to a pawnbroker. 

A 21-year-old man charged with 11 counts each of goods in custody suspected of being stolen and making a false statement to a pawnbroker.
