Not-for-profit employment service provider WISE Employment will continue to help job seekers in need under the government's new jobactive program, to be introduced on July 1.
WISE has 40 main offices around the country including Auburn, Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Parramatta, Penrith, Richmond and Windsor and 57 part-time/outreach offices.
It helps employers find the right staff and job seekers find meaningful work via Disability Employment Services and jobactive.
Mt Druitt resident Cheryle Newham, 59, was unemployed and receiving Centrelink payments for six years before finding work through WISE.
She is now a permanent live-in caretaker for Providential Homes and "couldn't be happier".
"I'm very excited," she said.
"I love the job and I can support myself and buy things, which I could never do before."
The business also provided Newham with furniture for her house as she didn't own any. She is one of many helped at the WISE Mt Druitt office, which will be relocating to 5 Mount Street.
It’s is one of five existing offices to relocate under the new program.
WISE chief executive Matt Lambelle said the organisation will continue its support by providing services to job seekers and employers.
‘‘We hope to help disadvantaged people gain meaningful work and employers find the right staff,’’ he said.
‘‘We look forward to continuing to strengthen links with local businesses under jobactive.
