The Poms have gone into meltdown with the mercury set to soar towards 35 degrees at Wimbledon on Wednesday, forcing tournament organisers to implement precautionary measures to ensure the safety of players and spectators.
A severe weather warning has been issued in London with Wimbledon likely to be hit with the hottest day in the tournament's 138-year history, however tournament organisers refuse to close the roof on centre court despite the uncomfortable conditions.
The previous hottest temperature recorded at the illustrious tournament was 34.6 degrees on June 26, 1976.
Bulletins across London are being led with news of the country's heatwave, offering insightful tips on how to keep cool at night such as "wear less clothing" and "no sheets".
The average maximum temperature at Wimbledon during June is 21 degrees, while the average maximum in July is 23.5 degrees.
On the day Andy Murray won the 2013 final, the temperature rose to 30 degrees and 79 spectators required medical attention for dehydration, sunburn and heat exhaustion.
Most Australians wouldn't be bothered by temperatures in the mid to low 30s, with crowds flocking to Melbourne Park in recent years in 40-plus degrees.
In 2014, almost 1000 fans had been treated for heat exhaustion at the Australian Open when temperatures hit 43.3 degrees at Melbourne Park, forcing tournament referee Wayne McEwen to apply the extreme heat policy and suspend play on outdoor courts.
In 2009 play was also suspended on consecutive days when the temperature rose to 45 degrees.
While it will be at least 10 degrees cooler at Wimbledon on Wednesday, it's still causing a panic among English fans who began to get nervous when it reached 29 degrees on Tuesday.
When the gates opened at The All England Club on Tuesday, an announcement was made across the grounds warning fans of the conditions expected.
"Temperatures are expected to reach up to 30 degrees," the announcer said.
"For your own comfort we suggest you use sunscreen, drink plenty of water and wear a hat."
It's extremely unlikely play will be suspended at Wimbledon, however for ladies' and girls' singles matches, a heat rule allows a 10-minute break between the second and third set when the heat stress index is at or above 30.1 degrees before they are called to court.
Only one of the players participating in the match needs to request the break for the rule to be implemented, with heat stress index readings taken 30 minutes prior to play, then at 2pm and again at 5pm.
The heat stress index is a measure which factors together the air temperature, the humidity and the surface temperature and is measured by a heat stress monitor.
While there are guidelines in place for the women, there are no such measures in place for the men, leaving the decision up to the tournament referee.
