An exhibition featuring some of the world's most well-known gowns created by prominent fashion designers is on display at the Old Government House in Parramatta.
The Love, Desire & Riches: The Fashion Of Weddings exhibition — which opened on July 10 — features more than 50 famous and rarely seen wedding gowns and accessories while exploring 200 years of weddings history.
Brian Scarsbrick, the chief executive of National Trust in NSW, is presenting the exhibition.
He said visitors can expect to see "stunning pieces and iconic gowns from movies and major TV programs".
Some of the trust-acquired dresses on display have never been exhibited before.
Consultant curator Lindie Ward said the exhibition is rich with stories.
"There is something for everyone: men's waistcoats, top hats and all the men's accessories from a more formal era, while children will love the romance and especially the silk pageboy suit on display," she said.
The exhibition runs Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-4pm until November 1 at Old Government House. Entry: $10-$16.
