Internet upgrade

Claremont Meadows and Kingswood households will now be able to connect to high-speed broadband following Telstra's upgrade of local ADSL2+ infrastructure.

Telstra is integrating new technology into the existing street cabinets that deliver telephone services to residents and businesses that had been unable to access broadband internet.

Lindsay MP David Bradbury said he would continue to lobby Telstra for ADSL2+ upgrades in areas that can't access broadband ahead of the NBN rollout.

Call to cap rate

Roads Minister Duncan Gay has accused Labor of reckless claims about state government road pricing.

"The people of western Sydney know the NSW government has to do its homework before it makes the investments that are needed in the region," Mr Gay said.

He said the general per kilometre rate would be capped at a rate that does not lead to excessive charging for longer journeys.

"The M7 is a good example of where there is already a distance-based toll," Mr Gay said.
